so.. to clarify... Up until today, we had assumed that meaniew had worked on Idol for the last two years. As it turns out, our assumptions were wrong and it is only this year that they have worked on idol.
So why the outing? Because of this comment
We had always wondered if this was someone who worked on the show and today, we stumbled across a post on the Trade Me message boards by someone with the same name. 5 minutes of googling and all the dots were connected.
We have always said that if you're a member of the NZ Idol crew, by all means feel free to post on Idolblog, but don't treat the fans like we're stupid. If it sounds fake, you'll be caught out and in this instance, that is what has happened.
This is the first time since the first season that one of the production crew has been outed on the site and it was purely coincidental. If it wasn't for the comments on Trade Me which sparked our interest then we wouldn't be any the wiser.
Anyway, Mel and I had a good talk this evening and vented at each other for a while and I think we've managed to sort out any issues.

Hello all, I'd like to clarify a couple of things which perhaps aren't clear on here. Whilst I have been a member of Idolblog since the start (two years, thirty weeks my login page tells me), I've only worked on Idol this season (and only at TVNZ in the past year for that matter). I joined Idolblog like the rest of you did - as a fan of the show. If you look back at my posts (as I see you've been doing - The Critic's been commenting on posts I made back in 2004, which strikes me as somewhat unfair when he knows I wasn't working on Idol then), you'll see I've always maintained pretty much the same line on things. There's one post where I said something that implied I was someone else. Other than that, what you see on Idolblog is me. My opinions as me, not as 'Idol employee'. I'm quite upset that personal details (let alone my full name) have been posted on here - imagine how you'd feel if it happened to you.

I think its unfair too: A reason why I haven't yet posted about it. Don't worry about the others, they get 'excited' when a TVNZ employee is revealed on here. What I'm trying to say is that I personally feel guilty for some odd reason and I wish to say sorry anyway. So sorry :$

note there are "mugs" buying the tickets. Always beware of the unaswered question and check facts yourself before bidding. Ironically Melanie has also had tickets for sale from time to time and I understood it was a condition of the "free" tickets that they were not to be sold or assigned to anyone!
I brought 4 tickets and have row "B", I only need two but may invite family (as I did for head to head), still if you are young (not TOO young - mid-late 30's young) and good looking I can always take a bribe!

I have NEVER sold tickets of any description, let alone Idol tickets on Trade Me. I'm a buyer, not a seller (largely of 1950s childrens novels I may as well tell you since I don't seem to have no privacy left).
