Bummer. Especially considering that season one's top ten were all invited to last years final. Would have been great to see them all again a year on.
Rosita & Ben should have been there I was lost not seeing them
In AI3 both Ruben and Kelly performed solo's and then they sung with the final 2 ('The Impossible Dream' that was a great song) it made it so much better. Grrr at everyone involved in Idol that didnt want to or just didnt invite them
I 4 one still think that Rosita has a stronger voice than both Matt and Indira!

Thats dumb I wanted 2 see Nik Steve Teresa and Rosita the most.I havent seen Steve since the 9th of December last year or any of them

Had a friend that went to the buddywalk on sunday (where the top3 were making an appearance) & Jesse from idol05 was there to & apparantly there was just as much buzz around Jesse as there was around top3. So maybe thats why none of the top10 from last year got an invite - it might take the attention away from this years idols??? Who knows? Still dumb they didn't get an invite.
Jesse is probably my favourite from all 3 seasons, hope he kicks everyone's arse.
Oh and back on topic, yes it is unbelievably rude that former contestants aren't invited. Especially Rosita - I guess she is viewed as competition by the new record company now?

I'm sure an invite to the top ten would have been merely enough though. Steve already had flights booked that he was willing to use but didn't get an invite so has postponed them. I'm sure they idols would have covered their own flights, maybe they could pay for Rosita though since she is the current NZ Idol. An invite doesn't have to cost anything bar the paper it's written on.
Totally agree. SPP/TNVZ would look a whole better if they invited theTop10 from last year. Oh well there loss eh?

It's crazy eh? I can't understand it at all! Rosita SHOULD be there! Its just the way it should be. BUT this season has been weird from the start, everything is done completely different to the previous 2years. Not happy about thou!
This is so unbeleviabley rude, but given what NZ Idol has become, I'm not surprised.
It is totally rude not to invite the top 10 from last year!!!! Especially since this is probably the last Idol season. Would have made a great show/party to have previous contestants there. Make it a real showstopper of a night! WOW, I'm shocked that they didnt even get a invite to attend!
That is really, really, really sad!!! :| I guess, of course, Ben was pretty hard to beat last year when he came back and sung with Sela
so they probably didn't want Rosita to embarrass herself by trying to top that effort LOL
(OK, I'm biased, but their performance in the final last year was SUPERB, and it would have been nice for the last year's winner, ie Rosita, to have the chance of performing again ...)
Agree with all of the above BIMI and would have thought Ben and Rosita actually along with the top 10 from the first two series, along with the current series, to go 'out with a bang' given that it is 'rumoured' and sounds to be true now too from what I've read, that this will be TVNZ's last Idol show.
As my Dad would have said the powers that be are 'as mad as snakes'. :(

I suspect number crunchers have their razor blades out trimming the fat which will go to the new Dicrapsu and $50grand. This year ive never seen so much physcological(sp) with Dom Bowden bringing out such lines as we need you to be generous voting your Idol and so far voting has just changed the top 2 It fools people into voting even more!
Ahhhh yes but they do need to get there $50 grand from somewhere!
