The Edge created their very own BoyBand. New Zealand voted, and we now have:
"Hot Boy"-- Peter from Hamilton
"Gay Boy"-- Rob from Wellington
"Fat Boy"-- Jacob from Dunedin
"Mummy's Boy"-- Chris from Whakatane
"Bad Boy"-- Gerard from Auckland
They're singing for free around the country (tonight in Dunedin at 7pm, Meridian), and their first single - a cover of the The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" - is the seventh most played YouTube video. The goal is to get it to number one, so everyone, go buy New Zealand's first ever BoyBand's single "You Really Got Me" when it is released on October the 2nd.

Yeah. I heard that for a song to reach the #1, they will get it from 50% Airplay & 50% Sales. I'm sure The Edge and its other sister radio stations over played the song for the past week.
They proabably bought a few thousand of the singles... and probably took a few hours of the night where it was all they played

hope boy band come back and sing some time, mummy's boy and hot boy were hot but i like the guys in the band is well.
Hope the Boy Band come back & sing nxt time. it was fun to meet them though, I think mummers boy and hot boy were hot. I like the other guys in the band to but I really like Mummers boy & Hot boy best though.

Mummas boy is pretty hot lol. But due to unfortunate circumstances, I can't go because I have work when they're at Sounds lol.
The Edge will probably rig it to be a #1 single.
It deserves to be a #1 on it's own merits - covering an old #1 and bringing it back with a fresh sounding beat and updating it with todays sounds - it's brilliant - even the video is well done :D:

Ok. Well. They were great live. The "Mummy's Boy" song was One Love.. I don't remember what the rest were, but all the voices worked together really well and their single sounded AWESOME.
Obvoiusly Fat Boy got the most cheers (being from Dunners himself), but next - even though the best singer was Hot Boy - was Mummy's Boy! He looks like Jesse McCartney but cute instead of really, really hot. He's a great singer.
Bad Boy loved the Mummy's Boy sign next to me, "Mummy's Boy, Play With Me!", and Gay Boy was OTT camp.
