To me, Ben is the biggest joke in idol history! His voice is sooo ordinary and has NOTHING special about it. If he auditioned for American Idol, Simon would say "that was awful". I don't think even Paula would like him! He is the worst contestant in idol history and if you were a real judge, you wouldn't be voting for him. I think people have so many opinions about him and they are the worst opinions ive seen in my whole life. I mean, he's topping the polls! Excuse me NZ! Get a life and stop voting for some-one who is incapable of being the NZ-Idol! I can't believe he made it to the Top 10! Actually, I don't know how he made it to the top 50!!! So I blame the judges aswell.
I am 100% sure he's out this week. His presence in this show is utterly pointless apart from the mega-hyperactive party teenage girls voting for him.
MY WHOLE FAMILY thinks Ben is the worst contestant! They think Matt, Aroha and Indira will make it to the Top. And yes, we all have a musical-background. So we know who's good and who's not!

Anyway, I don't like Ben either, he doesn't appeal to me and I know he doesn't appeal to you either Tyrique, but that's how Idol is- It's the people's opinion. Obviously Ben has a strong fan base, but just because you don't like doesn't mean he shouldn't be there.

Tyrique yer man that was abit harsh dude. yes everyone is allowed their opinion but you may have went to far by trashing Ben abit to much. I run Matts Fanclub and have asked everyone not to trash talk the other idols (which they dont anyway) so im really proud of the all the members.
The human thing to do is atleast wish Ben well for his next performance even tho you might hate his voice. You never know Ben might be the last man standing then we're all gonna laugh at you

Have you watched World Idol 3 years ago? Some of the Idol winners aren't that good as well. Tyrique, you cannot say that Ben is the worst contestant in idol history if you haven't heard all the winners and contestants from all the Idol shows.

Do you have big opinions in general, like, that whoever wins NZ Idol (and whoever gets through each week) is on NEW ZEALAND PUBLIC voting, and if so many people hated him he would be gone by now, but he's not. You don't have to like whoever NZ votes though, you may have to learn to accept it though.
Oh, and about American Idol judges possible comments? Well, how about we just wait until we magically turn into America with their judges and find out, otherwise we can prove that Ben is NZ Idol standard by how far he is getting in the competition
You all have your own opinions but Ben is an awesome person with an amazing voice! if i could vote i would but unfortunately i dont live in nz! A word of advice, you can give your negative comments but stop continuously putting someone down who is talented and has been doing this way before idol came along! Theres no need for the extremely harsh comments!

Do you know what I'm fed-up with - it's people who come here and instead of supporting the Idol they like, they just want to put down the others, and those who support them!
We can discuss performances and say what was good or bad and why, but not be so against the Idols as people, which seems to be happening.

I can see where you are coming from .Im defending Ben but that doesnt mean I am definitely voting for just him.Last week i voted for Indira as she was a better performer and Im gonna do the same. The Professionals associated with NZ Idol put Ben there in the first place so what an idiotic comment. It is stupid to believe that the "BEST" voice is what this contest is all about. I think that might be The Mobil Song Quest or something that you are getting confused with.
An NZ Idol doesn't need to have a cabaret/Cruise Ship entertainer voice.
And thank God you didn't have a say in the careers of the many many Rockstars and Popstars that have kept us entertained over the years whose voices would never have won a 'best voice' contest.
Matt's not caberet.....he has an amazing soul and RnB voice. I think maybe you need to broaden your musical horizons - soul singers have been some of the most successful artists ever.
