That does it! I cannot believe the crap that the amateur sound technicians produce every week and it has progressively gotten worse.
While the levels are usually terrible and the ringing in your ears is usually feedback, tonight's show was by far the worst with Aroha's microphone distorting during her performance.
I am absolutely fed up with the rubbish that these sound guys get away with producing from week to week. It is by far, some of the worst audio I have ever heard produced for television. Especially for a music show that relies so heavily on it.
Let's face it. These guys would have more success getting the audio right using an abacus than a desk so it's time the producers send these amateurs back to kindergarten to play with toys that are more suited to them.

I had to laugh last night ... I was watching a clip I downloaded of Westlife doing an appearance on X Factor over in the UK, and they were talking about which contestant they liked, etc, etc. Anyway, Kian made a comment about sometimes the sound guys not getting the mixing right, or something! Couldn't help laughing - it seems it's a universal problem in shows like this

The mics they used were so crap!! I'm not sure if it was just the crap wireless headset mics, or sound people... but it sucked BAD either way!
There is an old adage in sound engineering... you cant polish a turd.... if you try all you get is poo on your hands and a shiny piece of crap.....

While we're at it, why don't we start a petition that the winner doesn't have to sing an 'original ballad' written for Idol? To be honest, I'd prefer for them to sing something a little more upbeat than All I Ask for the Idol's single.
