I'm so glad you guys are changing server, Ib's been crashing a lot recently. And then the entire South Island south of Timaru lost our Eftpos, internet and cellphones today. I was having major internet pissed off issues.
Yeah. No internet at school, and no reception. We were all in a panic XD
that's what we get for living in a third world country
Essay due, no internet = no research. Oh yeah, and no cellphone reception. And no eftpos, in the whole of North Dunedin!
You'd think they would have fixed this problem by now.
How did we research in the old days....before internet?
We went to the lib ... the library??
Top floor of Vic Uni Library = most excellent makeout place. Only studyroom with a lockable door. I heard this from other students I might hasten to add.
I hated that 'You only can take this journal article out for 1 hour crap' ... talk about spending money on photocopying
Oh and I couldn't use the microfiche thing :|

LOL that is hilarious. I managed to go through my entire undergraduate degree going to the library like a whole 3 or 4 times? Sure I used the short loans.. but other than that it was e journals and e books :) But may I add, when I used the library I did know how to find things
When I was at uni referencing off the internet was discouraged. I found to get an A for a first year paper you needed about 5 books for reference, 10 books for second year and 15 plus for third year. I didn't get anything below A- at Vic and I never used the internet (or the damn microfiche (sp) ...).
That sux. its liek some old Chancellor wants to keep everyone back 30years or so using dusty smelly old books which have been handled by people who dont wash their hands after the toilet. why dont they just get up with the Internet times ;(
It's not that - it's more that the internet is not always a reliable reference.
Libraries have quality control - the internet does not
Exactly! If I go back to uni next year I'll be hitting the Library for my key references.
Then I'll be checking out the study/video room on the top floor to see what all the fuss is about. Not dodgily mind you
...... and btw those microfiche readers are easy to use - as is anything once you know how

No I am not in time out still - I needed a good break last weekend to chill out. No conspiracy theories, trying to sort a few things out still.
Really, really sorry to hear this, especially at this time, with the show on - everything you started the site for!

What happened there Tuikiwi? Sounds as if they were actually told to pull the things like the tipping competition, shop, podcasts and chatroom, and I wonder if Critic's cellphone was damaged deliberately
but, as I said elsewhere on here, recently, it's not their faults if their website is the more successful between theirs and TVNZ's one. I knew there was some angst on the parts of TVNZ and SPP (South Pacific Pictures) but that's just ridiculous.
A blogger mentioned to me maybe there had been a Court Order slapped on Critic.
I certainly hope not, but it's a bit strange his cellphone being taken off him, as I've never heard of that before but 'praps it has happened before, but if not, someone might have been shadowing him that night and gave TVNZ - SPP a tipoff citing him as being the prime ringleader in the spoilers, and he's not the only one plain to see.
I have no idea, I dont really chat with Admin & TC.

anyway, i bought a shirt for $10 and the print Company i bought it off are printing (mass producing) the blue NZ-Idol logo! on the front of the T-shirt hahaha!
