Does anyone know why the NZ Idol logo wasn't 'attached' to the glass?
The NZ Idol animation was supplied to SPP by Fremantle, (not made here).
Yup yup. But I don't see why the logo wasn't 'attached' the the spinning glass sign. In America the logo is attached, but in NZ it just 'floats' there. Kinda cheap
Fremantle get a percentage of the total budget. New Zealand's is obviously a LOT less than America's, therefore determines how much they spend on re-doing the animation.
Ahh okay. Makes sense. But I still think it should be the same for every country, or theres no point in doing it at all

I downloaded the Top 10 Medley preformed on the final, and Becks is amazing! And so is Aroha!
Random: I just saw the Philippine idol animation, aka the idol spinning in front of the glass on the screen on the stage, and we should be thankfull. Because over there, the logo stays slap bang on the middle of the screen as the glass, etc spins around behind it. Lame.
Isnt that what we had on NZ Idol - because im sure we had the same animations! - I thought America would had been one of a few countries that managed to "pull a few dollars" to get a proper animation.
Our one had the NZ Idol logo hovering in front of the 'bare' glass panel, and when the panel-thing spun around, the logo would sorta 'swish' around as well and hover.
Their one: The logo stayed in the center and doesn't move. Even wehn the sign spins around, it stays bang in the centre. It does not move at all, and it looks silly
I need second opinion thats not friends with Tuikiwi on this - Im sure that ours is pretty much the same as the Phillipines as you described it!

For the past two nights (and mornings) I've had the pleasure of serving five of the top 10 contestants at work this week. On sunday night/monday morning, Aroha and Indira came through drive-thru wasted (though, I don't blame Indira
), and Aroha seemed a little lost when I explained to her which drink was which.
Monday night/tuesday morning we had Victor, Toni and Ben come through and they seemed quite friendly
2004: Ben won Monday night - front page of Dominion Post Tuesday morning
2005: can't remember
2006: Matt won Sunday night - page A5 of Dominion Post Wednesday

The Dom Post is a Wellington-based/run newspaper. Ben was from Wellington originally. Rosita was...an Aucklander? Matt is from Levin which tries to be part of Wellington.

The single was put out by Shock Records NZ Ltd (anyone heard of them?), so I guess any album would be the same. Though recording contract may mean the contract for the single...
I have managed to get to 2 idol shows this season and was really annoyed at Indiras friends. I think she has heaps of talent, but both shows she has had friends in the audience that have been really rude and nasty to other people, and at the second show they were threatening to take someone outside and "smash their f***in face in". So talent or not I had younger family with me and they didn't find it funny either and they have changed their votes to Aroha. Bring back Clinton and Kali!
I totally agree. I had one of Indira's friends standing next to me at the final and he wouldn't move a bit to the side so my sister could stand by me. He was a real d!ck.

The current Idol studio suits the old indent: ya know, the video of the Idol logo out in space with stars passing it?
But having the old studio with the new spinny-logo one, it just doesnt fit. New studio!
I think this season's voting has proved to be really bad. I've found myself on Monday nights gutted about whoever left yet laughing at the joke that has proved to be this season's Idol. I just dont take it seriously now, and you could tell the judges were getting annoyed at the public's voting. My favourites, and in my opinion some of the best people like Clinton, Bex and Toni (the last two especially) have been voted out way too early, leaving the wrong people in to continue in the competition (Aroha to name one). I just think it was a real shame for the best talent to be voted out so quickly
And yet at the Grand Finale last night, when they crossed to the Judges, Frankie said that, 'This time the NZ Public has voted correctly and we have two fine, talented young people out there'. I don't get that.

It's better than the having it at the studio where it's been held for the last two seasons... Weren't they supposed to have it at the Trusts Waitakere Stadium last year?
I thought the first two were held at Skycity?
