The entrants into the finals have already been decided, with heats happening over the past few weeks.
Nationals are being held on Monday 21st August in Hamilton - AH! That's in [less than] one week! 
Come watch!!! It's at the Founders Theatre, it's a whole day sort of thing.

*Big Sing* - National competition is on 24-26th August! THATS NEXT WEEK! The Gala Concert is on Sat 26th at the Auckland Town Hall, which costs money, but I think it's free to come to the day sessions where you hear our entire program! QMChorale is 10am Friday and 5pm Friday session Come watch and say hi to meeeee!

Ohh Jemma I saw some girls from your school last night like before the performance and I asked them if they knew you. haha. nice uniform.

Weeeeeeeeeeeelll, for Barbershop, we came 6th out of 10 girls choruses in finals, which is really good for us
So we're very hap-hap-happy!
And for Chorale we got a Silver medal - doesn't mean we came second though, cause everyone gets gold silver or bronze haha, but we were still really proud of getting not-bronze
hehe. Westlake got Platinum, Wellington Coll/Craighead/Burnside/Villa Maria got gold and then a few silvers and a few bronzes 
It was an awesome few days though

Wellington College Chorale is in the finals, but they don't have the cash to get there, so they're having a fundraising concert I think at Coll? not sure exactly where, next Tuesday 7PM I believe. Wellington Girls' College Teal and Teal Voices will also be performing there

Aw Tauranga Girls' Chorale missed out on nationals :'( They are a reserve and I think they might still be going as a guest choir cos no one else from our region ever gets in.
But the barbershop group finally won this year! Even though everyone says we should have won last year as well... So it's the first year ever that Hamilton Girls' haven't won it! They weren't there this year apparently because their music department has fallen apart since Barbara Smith left.
So our girls will be at barbershop nationals again and I think I'm coming over to watch so I might see of you there
Hey are any of you in the national YWIH chorus this year? I so wanted to go again but it's just too expensive and I don't want my parents to have to pay :(
Does anyone else know which other schools made it into the finale?? I'm dying to know!

They cut the number of choirs that get through from 20 down to 16 a year or two ago. I suppose to raise the standard and shorten the competition?

But they can go up to 20 if they want to, and then they just don't invite the guest choirs. 20 is their limit, but I think it's good that they don't make themselves necessarily fill up those places.

As if that was in any doubt!! It would of been a shock if Westlake (as well as Rangitoto) didn't have a choir in the finale!
