NZ Idol top 10 finalist Steve Broad makes a cameo appearance on a special episode of Shortland Street April 7th.
Steve turns up to sing a solo in a pivotal scene between former bad girl Claire and christian nurse Baxter in Serenity Church.
The filming of the episode has already won Steve at least one new fan: Tom Hern admits to being only an occasional NZ Idol watcher, but gained a new respect for Steve’s talents.
"He had to bust out acappella quite a few times on the day in front of a big crew says Tom, I thought he did a great job."
The shows producers were equally impressed.

I already knew, but I was hoping it wouldn't get out beforehand and you guys would actually get a surprise when you watched it! Shortland Street's not that evil. If you're worried about how the portray christians, you'd be pleasantly surprised at Baxter. He was even praying with Claire on the show recently.
