OMG! Drew has the hots for – Amanda?!

Wanting what you can’t have is a large part of wanting it in the first place.

Think about the oh-so-painful desire you have for those shoes you can’t afford, that holiday you don’t have time to take and the iPod your paltry pocket money doesn’t even come close to covering: I mean, you don’t covert Bonds undies and trips to Nanna’s, right? Welcome to the world of forbidden love. This world houses hot celeb crushes, saucy secret flushes for your older sibling’s best mate and um, your girlfriend’s mother? Drew Curtis, come on down!

Four words Drew: ‘skating on thin ice’. Drew hasn’t made the best impression on Summer Bay residents since we discovered the former Peter Baker had a son – his surly attitude with Dan and Leah, being the suspected town pyro etc – but his relationship with Belle has always been pretty cool. We love the whole bad boy/ bad girl thing, especially when underneath their defensive attitudes, they actually really care for each other. So why is Drew now smitten with Amanda? Is it a school boy infatuation? Or something more?

“Initially it was just, ‘Belle’s mum is really hot’,� explains Bobby Morley [Drew Curtis], “Then he started seeing more of Amanda, every time he saw she’d always be in compromised positions: he couldn’t get his mind off her…�
“And she was always really encouraging of him too,� continues Holly Brisley [Amanda Vale, “She always wanted to give them [Drew and Belle] a chance to prove themselves - she was very encouraging of his work around the house, employing him part-time - that would add fuel to the fire...�
“She was so eager to actually consolidate her relationship with him, because she wanted to be close to her daughter as well - to become friends with the boyfriend just seemed like a natural thing,� Bobby notes. “For him it was like, ‘Woah, Amanda's everywhere I go and I can’t get her out of my head’.�

Indeed, initially Amanda’s comments about Drew’s attractiveness are completely innocent – and his flirtations with her were never anything Amanda took seriously. “It was just flattering, you know,� exclaims Holly. “You can imagine: you’ve got kids - you’d just be flattered and think it was kinda cute. You wouldn’t think that they wanted to have a relationship with you!�

Amanda’s flirtations with Drew are just so – well, Amanda. We know she has a good heart – remember how she gave up her feature film to fund the chopper crash rescue mission? – but self-destructive Amanda’s great weakness is men. “She’s almost addicted to male attention. She’s always had it, she always wants it,� confirms Holly. Couple that with headstrong Drew’s all-encompassing feelings of infatuation and you have a recipe for disaster!

“No-one’s shown him that kind of affection or attention like Amanda did,� muses Bobby. “With Belle, he had to go after her and convince her he was worth going out with, but with Amanda she was already like, ‘You’re good at what you do – good work in the garden, good boyfriend, good body’, and he was like, ‘This has never happened to me before, nobody’s ever treated me like that.’ It’s so overwhelming!�

In retrospect both actors are extremely hesitant about ‘following your heart’ in real life, no matter what the level of attraction might be. “Sometimes you’ve gotta be pragmatic: who would get hurt and what does this mean and what are the chances of it ever working,� says Bobby. “In this case Drew doesn’t have that forethought.�

And the repercussions are naturally dire for Amanda and Belle. “After this she goes on a big downward spiral, it affects the core of her, everything about her,� reveals Holly. “And it would! She’s fought so hard for her relationship with her daughter – to throw it all away…�

One thing’s for sure: this forbidden love is going to shock everyone in the Bay: stay tuned for all the action!

Hello all!

Plenty of dramas this week in the Bay, the most traumatic of which being Tasha and Martha’s kidnapping! I’m happy to say they are both home safe and sound – but it certainly was an ordeal getting them back! Here’s what happened…

As I mentioned last week Tasha and Martha were staying alone in a gorgeous bushland retreat: Martha had invited Tasha along as Jack wasn’t able to make it to his own honeymoon because of work. Robbie was worried after not being able to get through to Tash – he has a sixth sense for when his wife is in trouble! We thought he was being a touch on the paranoid side, until a robbery at Yabbie Creek pharmacy turned out to have Mumma Rose’s fingerprints all over it. Our worst fears were confirmed: The Believers cult leader was back!

Jack, Fitzgerald and Robbie raced over to try to find the girls and luckily were flagged down by a desperate Martha: she’d escaped Mumma Rose’s clutches and quickly alerted the boys that Mumma Rose was after Tasha’s baby! Robbie was beside himself – how far would Mumma Rose go to get what she wanted?

We were stunned to discover the drug stolen from the pharmacy was one used to induce labour. What we found out later was that Mumma Rose did intend to induce labour, but Tasha insisted she needed a doctor as she medically had to have a Caesarean. This wasn’t going to stop Mumma Rose: she sent one of her henchmen, Jim, to kidnap Tasha’s doctor. But he got the wrong doctor and ended up kidnapping Rachel instead! Rachel told Mumma Rose she needed proper medical supplies to perform a Caesarean, and under the watchful eye of Jim she went back to the hospital to get what she needed. While she was there she had time to scribble a note pleading for help… and the address of where Tash was being held.

Back at the cottage Rachel was preparing to give Tash a shot of sedative – but the sedative wasn’t really intended for Tash, it was intended for Mumma Rose! However in the struggle Tasha accidentally received the full dose. At the same time the cops arrived: Rachel’s note has worked! Tash was raced to hospital as Mumma Rose was apprehended by the police. Tash has luckily stabilized but she is still understandably quite traumatized from the whole experience. I just hope this means Mumma Rose’s reign of terror is finally over…

In some less sensational news, Mr Stewart has returned from New York, to be happily reunited with Martha and of course me. He really is my rock during times like these – plus he bought me a gorgeous new red top that I absolutely love!

My earlier suspicions were correct: Drew and Belle have become the newest couple in the Bay. And already they’re causing trouble for all involved! Belle suavely manipulated Amanda into letting Drew stay the night (to “study�), but after overhearing the two talk it over in the Diner, Irene confronted Amanda over this decision. As usual, the two locked horns over this resulting in Irene spilling the beans to Dan. Dan helped Amanda see she was simply manipulated by Belle and it was inappropriate for the pair to be sharing a bed so soon. But did this stop Belle and Drew? No siree – Drew snuck out and stayed at Belle’s regardless! After getting caught out the next day, Drew and Belle were both grounded and Drew had his bailchecks doubled as result of his attitude down at the police station. But their antics don’t stop there! In an effort to clear Drew’s name over the allegations he is the Summer Bay arsonist, Belle lit a fire at the Gym. This naturally backfired and Belle was charged with damaging property. Amanda certainly has her hands full with her new daughter – I’m glad it’s not me having to discipline them!

I’ve been spending more time with Brad and Emily – it really is heart-breaking to watch this gorgeous couple go through the same pain and sadness that myself and Flynn went through all those months ago. I think Brad is starting to let go of some of his emotional walls and accept Emily’s leukaemia, but I know from experience that his process of acceptance and healing will be a slow and difficult one.

And the latest piece of news to come my way (thanks of course to Colleen), is that one of Kim’s client's Tara has made a report of sexual assault against him! I had heard they’d been sort of fighting over this – apparently Tara has quite the crush on Kim, but I highly doubt this could be true: Kim is such a stand-up guy! Must be off to get to the bottom of this!

The season finale for 2006 will be the icing on the cake to an explosive year in summer bay, unbelievable as it may seem, the producers of the long running series are aware that they are up against it to try and pull this off, after so much bad luck this year - just as well it isn't zoe again!! The producers are also aware that such a storyline as this one is quite controversial, with real life events such as the Tsunami in India. However they decided that the tidal wave would be the cause of a storm, which causes the tidal wave through flooding, similar to the mudslide in 2000.

But ladies and gentlemen i will warn you now, the beginning of 2007 will have us glued to our seats, as we see pivotal moments in home and away, and we learn a few unanswered quetsions about this most strange, deadly and mysterious peninsula of the world. We will see a huge return of favorite characters from the past, there returned is marked by death, as one of our long running characters is killed in the summer bay tidal wave. In total, four cast members, will not return in 2007 - and furthermore, the producers report, this is the beginning of a fresh look for home and away, but also returning to its true roots, and back to reality!

Monday: Kim's life continues to spiral as Tara's allegations spread around town, Lucas is heartbroken when he discovers Matilda has fallen for another guy, and Tony embarks on a surprising new career. PG(a)

Tuesday: Rachel is shocked by Kim's decision to leave the Bay. Drew is caught in a compromising position with a naked Amanda. The hunt for the pyromaniac continues when Drew is cleared of his charges.

Wednesday: Kim bids farewell to Summer Bay. Emily and Sally hide some devastating news from Brad. Lucas is devastated when his hopes of getting back together with Mattie are crushed.

Thursday: Brad finally breaks down as he comes to terms with Emily's deteriorating health. Macca is stunned when he discovers Cassie still has feelings for him. Tasha returns home with Baby Ella - but is she coping with being a Mum?

Friday: Overwhelmed with panic, Tasha flees the house leaving Ella all alone, while Cassie continues to battle her confused feelings for Macca and Ric.

Wednesday: Robbie's criminal past comes back to haunt him as Tasha sinks into a deep depression following the birth of the baby. Tony receives some shocking news.

Thursday: Drew and Belle go to drastic lengths to keep seeing one another. Sally feels the pressure of keeping the truth about Emily's condition from Brad, and Cassie's shocked when a face from the past makes a surprising return.

Friday: Cassie struggles to fight her feelings for Macca following his return. Lucas is devastated when he sees Matilda kissing Dean, and Drew and Belle's runaway plan has an unexpected outcome.

Watched last nights aussie episode earlier today, belle and drew FINALLY got it on. Ive been downloading them and watching them for over a week now. Found the helicopter crash part V boring imo

Friday: Rachel and Kim's relationship woes reach a dramatic crisis point - but the biggest shock of all is just around the corner. Belle's plan to help Drew backfires when her criminal act is exposed.

During an argument with Ric Belle is stung by a bee and she askes Ric for help but he doesn't want to here about it, Drew saves her and they share a kiss. Drew is arrested and charged with Arson and he accuses Ric of framing him. Mumma Rose tries to drug Tasha but she spits it out, so she calls one of her thugs to take Tasha away and Martha thinks they are going to cut her open to get the baby. Vanessa helps Matilda with her recovery, however Vanessa hides serious rage issues and she attempts suicide.

I just watched Home and Away, Zoe!! She blows up Martha and Jacks wedding party incase you didn't know.

That was her "Big finish" And Tracy is working with Zoe!!!!!! I can't believe it! but when Zoe blows up the wedding party, She gags tracy and takes her out to everyone and says to Peter, "She's working with me Peter" Can you believe it?!?! I can't!!

Mattie becomes bullimic, all because of all this chaos, here's a snipet from the feature thing about it lol,

Overnight her boy Lucas pulls a Dr Jekyll/ Mr Hyde transformation: one minute sweet-as-apple-pie Perfect Boyfriend, the next he’s campaigning for Bad Boy of the Bay! Breaks up with her. Hooks up with hussy-about-town, Lee. Leads Mattie to believe he got Lee pregnant. All while still living in the same house as her.

Summer Bay Stalker Zoë terrorizes the town. Family members Kit and Robbie are lost in the bush. Oh, and Mattie has a massive scar the size of Tasmania down one side of her neck and chest as the result of an explosion at a wedding that she was a bridesmaid at and someone died. Believe us when we say, it’s not all fun and games in Summer Bay.

So as a result of these uber-tragic events, Mattie has started binge-eating and throwing up – now she’s coughing up blood and is in hospital! What’s the dealio, y’all? Why is Mattie making herself sick?

Hello everyone!!

What a crazy week in Summer Bay! I feel like I’ve only recently been able get a good night’s sleep – why? Because (drumroll please) our loved ones in the bush were found! I know, it’s unbelievable isn’t it? And at the eleventh hour to boot! The story goes that we had decided to officially call the search off: Amanda’s money had run out (bless her) and even with the pooled resources from Beth, Macca and the others, it simply wasn’t enough. Then the most peculiar event occurred. Amanda was suddenly struck by an awful pain in her leg. She became convinced she could feel a pain Belle was feeling, which meant she was still alive! The next day Amanda, Tony, Cassie, Ric and Macca set out, Amanda’s resolve fuelling the determination of the group. Suddenly they heard a faint yell for help – it was Robbie! Running towards the sound they found Martha, Belle, Colin and Robbie, who told them where to find Kim and Kit! They were all still alive – but only barely! They were all severely dehydrated and exhausted, while Martha had just stopped breathing and Belle had suffered a poisonous spider bite! But now, thank God, they’re back, safe and sound. But the dramas don’t stop there!

The claws are out: Amanda and Irene are fighting over Belle! Amanda wants Belle no matter what it takes and God knows that woman has a way of getting what she wants! An angry-looking Irene told me Amanda is “stooping to new lows� in order to win Belle over. I’ve seen Belle having heated discussions with Ric on the beach – just between you and me, I have my suspicions Belle and Amanda’s plotting has to do with Ric and Cassie. Perhaps I’m just being paranoid – I hope! Irene is also convinced that Macca and Amanda are somehow ‘involved’, which Amanda denies: something about getting her bracelet stuck in the pool filter and Macca helping her out? Who knows what’s really going on there, suffice to say, if Amanda’s involved, you can bet things will be kept interesting!

In a shocking turn of events, it was revealed this week that Lee wasn’t pregnant to Lucas at all! He was just covering for her – the real father was Steve Braeburn! Yes, the science teacher at Summer Bay High! I was absolutely outraged of course – we won’t be seeing hide nor hair of Steve in these parts much longer. I couldn’t believe that Lucas was taking the rap for Lee – he’s such a sweet boy but he really must be more careful that people don’t take advantage of his kind nature. Hopefully this will help Mattie and Lucas back on track – they don’t seem to be a couple yet, but here’s hoping. Cassie seems worried about it too – I asked her about Matilda just before and she seemed slightly evasive. I didn’t push it – I trust Cassie will come to me if she needs me.

Peter's son Drew came back to the Bay for the reading of the will. He stands to inherit $20,000 when he turns 18, which is six months away. I believe he’s staying with Dan and Leah till then. However no sooner had they turned their backs than he took off with Peter’s car! Returning home on foot he claimed to have run out of petrol, but when they went to find it, it’d been torched! They were naturally suspicious, which Drew took very badly, swearing till he was blue in the face it wasn’t him. When the police got involved Drew was furious, stating he hated Peter and he hated Dan! I knew he’d be a handful for those two!

Beth mentioned to me that Kim and Kit’s relationship seems strained since they returned from the bush. Hmmm… I wonder what happened out there? I mean, I think Kim is a great guy but who knows how nearly dying would cause people to act…

Is it just me, or is something strange going on with Jack and Tasha? One would think they’d both be over the moon given their respective partners have been bought home to them, and they are but – I don’t know, something seems unresolved there.

Mr Stewart is still over in New York, but Morag spoke to him just before and of course he’s ecstatic that Martha’s OK.

To end on a light note (and I am very thankful I am able to do this after the past few weeks), I had a very funny encounter this week with Rachel's brother Brad, who I mentioned last week. I had popped in to see Rach, only to find Brad had locked himself out of the house – absolutely naked! Don’t worry, it wasn’t too bad – he had found some wood and garden clippings to cover anything, ahem, too revealing but believe you me I had a great laugh with Rachel and the girls about it later!
