SingaBoi's Bio

Musical Background: I've been singing my whole life to the radio and I was in the choir at Primary, Intermediate and High School when I was in 5th form I joined the Northland Youth Choir in Kerikeri with Carol Maher. A year later I was having lesson's privately with Carol Maher and that's when I started singing classical music I started as a baritone but she thought that i may actually be a Tenor and now that's what I am. I've sung up in Kerikeri with the Bay of Island Singers, Opera North, Whangarei Theatre Company and little gigs around northland.

Recently we did the Proms up in Kerikeri and we did songs from Broadway and G&S and I sung the Fredrick & Mabel duet with my friend Kararaina, 2 years ago I did The Lion, Witch & The Wardrobe musical in which I was Mr Beaver Smiling, i've also been Freddie in My Fair Lady, Skip Snip in Little Shop Of Horrors and Hercules in 'Hercules - The Panto'

But on Saturday I had my most difficult task 'The Messiah', I had to start the whole show and basically set the tone for the next 2 1/2 to 3 hours! My rehearsals were possibly the worst pieces of shyte ever so I was fully stressing the night but I got up there and did it! I sung Comfort Ye, Every Valley, Unto Which Of The Angels & Oh Death Where Is Thy Sting (a duet with Phillipa Walden). The concert was conducted by Peter Watts and the organist was Dr John Wells.

Musical Ambitions: I love singing but I dont feel im ready to take it to a career level yet I have years to go and im not even sure if I really want to do the Becroft Aria competition next year! It seems so daunting and scary  :s

Anyway next year im am going to study Primary Teaching at Waikato and basically figure out what I want to be in the future.

Musical Idols: Christina Aguilera, Mario Lanza, Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Josh Groban & Whitney Houston (theirs many more though).
