SingaBoi's Bio

Musical Background: I've been singing my whole life to the radio and I was in the choir at Primary, Intermediate and High School when I was in 5th form I joined the Northland Youth Choir in Kerikeri with Carol Maher. A year later I was having lesson's privately with Carol Maher and that's when I started singing classical music I started as a baritone but she thought that i may actually be a Tenor and now that's what I am. I've sung up in Kerikeri with the Bay of Island Singers, Opera North, Whangarei Theatre Company and little gigs around northland.

Recently we did the Proms up in Kerikeri and we did songs from Broadway and G&S and I sung the Fredrick & Mabel duet with my friend Kararaina, 2 years ago I did The Lion, Witch & The Wardrobe musical in which I was Mr Beaver Smiling, i've also been Freddie in My Fair Lady, Skip Snip in Little Shop Of Horrors and Hercules in 'Hercules - The Panto'

But on Saturday I had my most difficult task 'The Messiah', I had to start the whole show and basically set the tone for the next 2 1/2 to 3 hours! My rehearsals were possibly the worst pieces of shyte ever so I was fully stressing the night but I got up there and did it! I sung Comfort Ye, Every Valley, Unto Which Of The Angels & Oh Death Where Is Thy Sting (a duet with Phillipa Walden). The concert was conducted by Peter Watts and the organist was Dr John Wells.

Musical Ambitions: I love singing but I dont feel im ready to take it to a career level yet I have years to go and im not even sure if I really want to do the Becroft Aria competition next year! It seems so daunting and scary  :s

Anyway next year im am going to study Primary Teaching at Waikato and basically figure out what I want to be in the future.

Musical Idols: Christina Aguilera, Mario Lanza, Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Josh Groban & Whitney Houston (theirs many more though).

Somewhere, singaboi said his fans should be called something, like how rosita has her 'pips'.

So, reply to this post with an idea for a name before Friday, and SIngaBoi can choose the name he likes best.

You Raise Me Up version 2.0 for all of you! I really did hate my original recording so hears 2.0 Smiling ENJOY Laughing out loud

Tittiman 18 January, 2006 - 12:09am

A far better version than the last - though that doesn't say much, because it was still brilliant (the first version, that is). More emotional rendition and truly captured the essence of the song!! What do you use to record your singing??? And don't give me a stupid answer, like, a microphone!!! I mean, what program did you use???

SingaBoi 18 January, 2006 - 12:14am

Awww thanx! Im actually proud of this one  hehe the other i hated but had no time to do any more with it :S

Anyway i used Audacity for both versions.

Tittiman 18 January, 2006 - 12:29am

Hehe, I added reverb to it and it sounds really good!!! Wanna listen???

anjelus 18 January, 2006 - 1:30am
IB Advisory Clinic

What did you use to add the reverb?

Tittiman 18 January, 2006 - 1:31am

I used a program called Audition.

SingaBoi 18 January, 2006 - 12:56am

sure what's reverb?

Tittiman 18 January, 2006 - 1:15am

When you record, you don't have the luxury of recording in a great concert hall or something - only in a small room. As a result, the sound produced is - dead! Reverb helps alleviate that by making it sound as if you were singing in a big room or something!!
