We hardly ever ban people on this site and, it's fair to say that many many more people contact us asking for people to be banned over their behaviour than we'd ever act on. We try to be lenient and forgiving and give people room to learn from their mistakes. Bans are almost always not permanent, if you're banned you can write to us and apologise over your behaviour which led to your banning.
Thanks for your understanding that we don't do things on the spur of the moment and there are good reasons.
