Victor dropped out

Submitted by admin on 11 July, 2005 - 6:07pm.
We've heard that Victor Sulfa, the shy 17 year old from Papatoetoe High who sang his rendition of "Somewhere over the rainbow" dropped out of the competition as he chose focussing on his education over NZ Idol.

I don't think his personality would have survived alot of what possibly goes on in the Idol world - he still seemed innocent and new to the whole entertainment bizzo. Good on him for being mature about pulling out.............and using the right excuse?! hahaha....I didn't think too much of Victor to be honest - but wish him all the best for the future, cos he definitely has a talent that can grow...

Excercise is a dirty word - everytime I hear that

Did you see the add for the top 60 during shorty street tonight - one of the top 60 gets told to leave as they have been hiding something. maybe its Victor

Yes I seen that I didn't really catch onto what they were saying because I wasn't paying much attention.

I have awards in playdough sculpting

NOOOO He can't do that!! I mean he was beutiful! He even made my mum cry, not everyone can do that!! I feel, used, yes thats it! He got us all emotional and made us fall in love with him and he just spat him out! Hope you get in to the market later Victor. *sobs*

I think Victor wasn't "there" yet. I agree his singing was great, but I just didn't think he could get to #1 (at the moment).

They shouldn't have let him through - instead encourage him to improve his "stage presence" and come back the next year.

I hope he does work on his routine and come back next year, cos I'll be keen to see him too, just not now at his tender young age.

Bro 5 hrs later...lol (I should read the 'news page more often. lol)

From what I'v heard... He dropped out of the top 60 so we should see it on Sunday. Apparently He choose education over Idol... With him having to leave school for 3? months to do NZI it would clash with his exams etc...

Good on him.  I mean where exactly would NZIdol get him?

Education doesn't exactly sound like a "contractual obligation".

Thanks - he has his priorities right.  Our loss though.
