Week 7 and NO Ben!
Certainly was missed - expecially in the guys group song. When the previous guys song was shown, Ben was so obviously standing out in it with the others 3 as backing singers. This week the backing singers were on their own and didn't do too well at it! The girls song pretty boring too!
Anyway, thought Emily was really good - very 'now' and suited the song.
Joe so different in singing voice, and personality, but it is her personality that I love about her, it's that that gives her the edge for me. (No pun intended, just came out that way) Very good performance again.
Then what was it with Matt being given another song of Ben's and another one that was such a stand out for him and remains to be thought of as 'Ben's song' by so many! He no way could compete with what Ben did with it. He just looked fat and sounded like he had a bad throat - again.
Not one of Dave's best weeks. But it was probably the best performance from Nik so far this show. But not impressed with his attitude about himself, how good he thinks he is, doesn't deserve to be in the bottom 2, has a great personality, etc! Not the first time we've heard him speak like that.
Not surprised by the bottom 2 - but would soooooooooooo have liked to have seen Matt there. What is about him that he hasn't been there yet!
Anyway, David did try hard all series. The judges liked his elimination song, and what he did with it Though I wondered why when they said Ben's was dull and not a good choice and Ben put a whole lot more into it than Dave did!
Nik came out full of himself, seeming like he was thinking this was a likely single song for him - I thought does he mean to make this his single? Anyway, the judges didn't like it, nor did I!
So why then if they liked what Dave did, and not what Nik did, did they send Dave home? Other weeks they've made it plain that they judge on that performance!
In that case, they should have looked at past performances last week and noted that Ben was consistently good previously, whereas Emily hadn't been!
I have no doubt that these judges have decided who they want there at the end, no matter what the voters indicate!
Can't bother with putting up a week 8, so can carry on from last week - as I'm so disgusted with this whole show and how it's going!
Didn't think much of Emily this week, and she is so 'unlikeable'!
But did like the song with her and Matt - if I tried not to look at Matt!
Nik much the same as he always is.
The song with him and Joe was one-sided, with Joe putting all the feeling into it, gazing into Niks eyes and being all emotional with it - and Nik just singing, again like he always does with no emotion or directing his singing toward Joe.
Joe not her best - but found out she had a bad voice, could hear it in her talking too. She's not at work today because of it. The other guys she works with said they'd thought she wasn't there because Emily had beaten her up for getting through, they thought she looks evil enough to!
Then Nickelback for Matt! Wondered why he always gets the good songs! But he actually wasn't too bad. It suited his voice and hate to say it - but thought he was the best of the night!
Anyway, disgusted with the judges choice again! Why when Nik has been in the bottom 2 most weeks, is he still there for the final? It's been said to me that it's obvious Peter likes him and is likely pushing for him to stay! Right too! Emily definately has one of the better voices! But then so do Ben and Rosita!
Would vote for Joe because she's the only one I wouldn't mind winning now. But think what's the point, the judges will pick who they want anyway!
I'll be sooo mad if it's Matt because I don't like him and don't think he deserves to win anything - let alone another $50,000 and car to sell!
Don't think Nik deserves to win because the voters haven't liked him, only the judges have kept him there.
Don't even think Joe is the best singer out of everyone, but is likeable and the best of the 3!
I too cannot understand what the judges fixation with Matt is. How come after all the bad publicity - allegedly involved in drugs in Idol House, not turning up to rehersals for PUS, being thrown out of Sky Casino in dodgey circumstances - he still survives. Looks great for NZ TV!! Must say I thought he sang well last week but he is such a smarmy gitt. Oh PLEASE, people out there with a brain, vote for anyone but Matt. What a waste of another $50K - can you imagine which orrifice that goes in to??
I have to disagree with you, Loyal - I personally think Nik's the only one who DOES deserve to win out of these three, cause he's the only one who has said he wants to further his music career! What have the others said they want to do if they win the cash?!
OK, maybe 'deserves' is the wrong word. Yes, I agree he is working towards furthering his musical career and has always done that. And is sincere about wanting to carry on .
What I should say is that I don't think he 'ought' to be in the final by the fact that he's so often been in the bottom 2 right through, even the week before the final, so surely the opinion of the voters should be taken into account eventually!
Wrong thread I know but I couldn't find one for wk 9 which is what we're up to now, right? Anyway, I'm confused, how can we have a grand final next week with three people? Isn't it usually two? What are they doing?
I think they're probably trying to get people away from thinking this show is like Idol with having 3 people in the final ... who really knows what they are doing anyway?! LOL
So do they still have a bottom 2 and then the judges pick one to go up against the person who wasn't in the bottom 2 I wonder. But then surely the person who's not in the bottom 2 should be the winner, not the judges go againt the voting!
The reason I'm not going to vote, however much I'd prefer Joe to win, is because I think what's the point, the jduges will pick who they want anyway! Probably already have!
One thing thats playing on my mind. Matt &Joe havnt been in the bottom 2 yet. They both must have a huge fanbase. But Matt with the way he's been singing lately with croaky voice, excuses etc how on earth is he getting through every week? beats me!
Very soon within the next 2weeks they'll eventually end up in the bottom 2.
Don't know about a huge fan-base - I reckon Matt's probably voting for himself - thinking it's worth using some of the last $50,000 to try an earn another lot!
And Joe's getting a lot of votes by encouraging people to vote for her on the radio!

LOL! Didn't like him. He's done a lot worse in this competition than in Idol. And he's annoyed me even more in this too. Maybe cos I started with a strong dislike of him this time. Just the sight of him irritates me. I told Ducky that Matt's face makes me want to throw him under a bus. I really couldn't understand where Kim was coming from with her comment. I can't remember what she said but some compliment about how he looked. I thought *shudder*.
I really liked Joe. Still. And Emily's hair looked the best it's ever done on the show.
Was really glad David went. I didn't watch the elimination but Ducky told me that he thought Nik might go cos of the judges comments for them both. I didn't understand about the result either, if they were judging purely on that night's performances like they've stated previously. Totally inconsistent.
You summed up how I feel about Matt too Alaina. Don't understand why I didn't mind him earlier on in Idol! What was up with me?
Nik I would always rather listen to than watch, and not always been the best to listen to either during this show.
I feel exactly the same way about Nik too! Something about both of them I really don't like!
But yes, always love Joe, she's honest and funny - and performs well, with personality in what she does.
And Emily's hair did look better - just has to keep it falling over her face which I find is so annoying.

Yes, one week saying the're judging purely on the elimination songs. Then like when Steve went, someone performs better than they expect, so it upsets what they've got planned, so they have to make excuses for the way they chose.
But even that doesn't make sense this time, because Nik has had some bad performances before and they've always liked Dave. Also it was the first week in the bottom for Dave and Nik's been there a few times!

guys group song was crap. Just not as good as the first foursome group song. Girls were abit better than the guys.
David, i think he was given an 'okay' songh but something was suspicious. it was like David wasnt being himself and was just talking the song through with not much grit effort?? was he told to sing it that way or was it his own choice to sing it that way? we'll never no.
Matt given JonBon Jovi living on a prayer? or something similar. Good, and he opened up those big lungs, got the crowd going with his power voice. Voters responded accordingly.
Emily, cant remember what she did cause she doesnt really interest me. but i do recall she done it well witht he Whitney Houston trillls.
Joe, this girl is flavour of the year for Judges as she always gets the good songs without fail??! We're not stupid. She did it well but she really needs to be taken to task woth something abit harder rather than easy cover songs that anyone can sing.

Final 2... it may be Joe and Emily. i'll predict right now that Joe will get the easy good song and Emily will get some crap hard song.
Ka kite David! I went to 3live shows and was only impressed with David, when after every show he would come out and sign autographs and photoshoots with fans. Other Contestants were iether not interested or only came out for lyke 2minutes then would ditch everyone lmao!
