So we are in mid week of Idol now, waiting, anticipating the second episode of NZ Idol 2.
On the first episode, as everyone knows - we saw a huge expose on a fellow contestant Liz Shaw a person who is now hosting a half hour slot on MoreFM's Most Wanted at 8pm tonight. She will get to prove herself and her ability to present on air. I bet we will all be listening, if not - Admin will surely post the mp3 files, well I hope - I bet it's going to be a cracker. Just to give you a slice of Liz's antics, well me trying to put it all into one sentence, I'll quote Jacob - not knowing whether this is true or not: "Liz told me on MSN Messenger that she had sex with Warner after the auditions". You know what I mean? Drama, with a capital D. :-#
We have alot of Crowd favourites from last weeks screening, the people who have made it through to the top 60. For example, the Shy Victor, some feel really bad for him, some suggest that "In the theatre round where he has to learn new songs and sing in a group with other people I think he'll be well out of his depth. Just too shy - try again next time." I would think that when a person of his nature, being that he is shy and young, I would think that with the right encouragement and advice that he gets both from the judges and fans, only time will tell if he can truly hack the pressure of singing live and in front of the whole nation. If I compare Victor to, say Big Dave - he was considerably shy in the early stages, but at later stages, gaining more confidence, he portraited his ability to handle the jandle.
The crowd hotty, so far would have to be Nik Carlson who sang You should let me Love you by Mario, as described by full_length_skirt, "This guy is soooo hot!" fellow member of Idolblog, Nellie said she "personally did not find any of the guys good looking".
I wonder if any of the guys, on this here website picked out any nice chicks. To be honest, I didn't see any damn hot chicks from the Auckland auditions, but hey, we still have Wellington and Christchurch to go. From last weeks show, and for the girls, I think the stand out performances would have to be Keshia Paulse for me.
I have to mention the topic about Popular songs, because I havent really heard any new or original songs from the contestants so far, but otherwise have heard old and random songs. I remember Paul Ellis putting emphasis on song choice, and singing something we all know, or something we all can sing along to. To be honest, I don't know - if I were to audition for NZ Idol 3 - I would probably go with something ballady, because unlike Ben Lummis, I ain't good at doing trills. Would that make me right for the competition? Well comparing my singing ability to this years contestants and the people who have gotten through so far, I may just have a chance - no offense to the contestants who have made it through to the Top 24 so far thought.
Oh, not to forget before I sign off, Goodluck to you Liz for tonights show on MoreFM - I'm sure you'll have a blast, and I may even be there taking photos! Who know's.
Well then, until the next episode of NZ Idol 2,
Hei kona mai,
Aaron.
